THE PLOT:
Elvis is alive and well! Living in a retirement home, years prior he switched places with a lookalike in order to get some
down time, but the double was who died on the toilet and due to a twist of fate all evidence that the switch took place went
up in smoke in a trailer explosion.
Living in a rest home with a African American JFK, a Lone Ranger and now an ancient evil mummy who sucking the souls out
of people's rear ends.
That's right you heard me, Elvis must stop a soul steal mummy before he strikes again.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
I don't know what issues Bruce Campbell has with Don Coscarelli but I can see part of Bruce's argument on the matter. When
it came out everyone on the net was talking about Bubba Ho-Tep this and Bubba Ho-Tep that, I finally knuckled under and saw
it. This is one strange movie, even though the theory about Elvis makes sense, the theory of JFK does not, and who ever heard
of sucking souls out from the butt? I mean really, this is silly at points bordering on the idiotic! 6 STARS
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
Killer mummy on the loose, but they really never explained what woke him up after years being submerged in the river and why
didn't anyone look for the missing truck with a valuable mummy in it? 5 STARS
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ WHY ELVIS IS ALIVE (That makes sense, more sense then Don may think.)
+ BRUCE (Always good.)
+ MUMMY EFFECTS (The mummy effects work.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- JFK (Why not Malcome X or Martin Luther King Jr., that would have made more sense.)
- SILLY (Bordering on idiotic.)
- BUTT SUCKING (I don't think the soul resides in that part of the body.)
...AND FINALLY...
- ENDING (Without giving it it away, since there is no sequel, it's disappointing.)
